Who are Forbury Lion?
We are a collective of professional music marketers with decades of experience between us. Over the years, we have handled thousands of releases; everything from major label stalwarts to emerging underground talents. We've been responsible for several chart-topping albums and even a #1 UK single.

Simply reach out to us via the form via our contact page. We aim to respond to everyone we hear from, so if you don't hear back within a few days, feel free to give us a nudge.
How much does it cost?
Forbury Lion has no upfront costs to any of our services. All we ask if to retain a percentage of the streaming royalties you receive from any release you wish to promote through us, depending on which marketing avenues you want us to pursue. You can view a breakdown of our services here.
What services do you provide?
Forbury Lion works with independent music distributors and marketers to ensure your music reaches the largest audience possible. We do this by providing exclusive distribution through our own channels, allowing us to promote your music directly to streaming DSPs, as well as UK national radio stations and internationally-recognised music blogs and websites.
How often will I get paid royalties?
While there is never an exact time or date that all streaming providers adhere to when sending out their royalties, most work on a 90-day delay after the release of the music. So if you put out a song in January, you will likely receive the royalties for that track in April. We aim to pay out all of our artists between the 25th and final day of each calendar month.
Can I release a cover / sampled song through Forbury Lion?
Yes, but you will require the appropriate license for them. Any "non-exclusive" license will mean you cannot claim revenue from its performance on TikTok, Meta, Youtube and so forth. For remixes and derivatives you will require the permission of the rights holder directly.
Can I work with a third party marketing or PR company as well?
You can provided you let us know prior to your song being released. We are always keeping an eye out for scammers in the music marketing space, so if you are considering working with a third party, please let us know so we can vet them thoroughly first.
Do I get to keep ownership of my master recordings?
Of course. We only act as an intermediary for artists to get the most revenue possible out of their releases, and we will never seek to take ownership of them.
Do you work with record labels as well as independent artists?
Absolutely! Our set-up is just as relevant to independent record labels as it is to independent artists. If you are a record label considering working with us, please reach out via our Contact Page.
Can I switch to Forbury Lion from another distributor?
Yes you can. Most distributors will require a 30 day notice period before completing a transfer, so it's best to make this your first move if you plan to work with us long term. We will also repitch your old material to DSP editors when you switch.
Can you promote my music video as well?
Yes you can. We work with VEVO, the world's biggest music video library, and can pitch your video to their team to gain an even bigger following than most. This service does come with a one-time fee for each video though, so please discuss with us first.
How many releases can I send you?
The sky is the limit! You can work with us on as many or as few releases as you like and we will never charge you an upfront fee for it.
How do I know you don't use artificial streaming?
Well, firstly, distributors are fined by DSPs if they are caught using artificial streams, so it is definitely not in our best interests to do so. Not only that, we have a robust safeguarding tool that detects and reports artificial streaming to DSPs. So if you end up being botted without your knowledge, you can rest assured that your royalties will be safe.
